We Shouldn’t Be Surprised!

We shouldn’t be surprised that false teachers abound within the broad spectrum of “Christianity.”

Jesus anticipated this – “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible.” (Matthew 24:24)

Paul anticipated this – “I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them...” (Acts 20:29-30)

Peter anticipated this – “But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you….” (2 Peter 2:1)

So when we come to Jude, this same warning is echoed.
For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.”

We should not be surprised!
Note Jude’s warning and key insights.
1) These men stand condemned by God.
2) These men have covertly entered into company with God’s people.
3) These men are without God.
4) These men misuse God’s grace.
5) These men encourage the works of the sinful nature.
6) These men deny Jesus Christ by their lips and lives.

They should be called out.
