“Grace and peace to you (plural) from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
What do friends, fellow Christian workers, women in ministry, leaders and all believers need which only God can supply? GRACE and PEACE. Paul, a first century leader and letter-writer typically pens this greetings to individuals and churches.
Notice these blessings (grace & peace) are coming from God our Father and His Son, our Saviour – the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the mediator -(Remember “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”). He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Since He is God incarnate, He brings all that God is to us in our need.
Philemon, Apphia, Archippus, in fact the whole church needs more grace and peace. What does a church look like that is “grace-deprived” or “peace-deprived?” I’m sure we’ve all seen evidence of this and perhaps too many times in our own lives, we’ve been “running on fumes” “leaning on our own understanding” instead of manifesting complete dependence upon God.
So today, in Jesus name, let’s ask our Father for these good gifts and having received them, let us manifest them in our relationships with others.
